I had another episode planned for you today, but after hearing about Kobe Bryant’s death on Sunday, January 26th, 2020 I decided that what I had planned can wait. For anyone who may not be familiar with Kobe Bryant, he was an incredibly talented and highly disciplined athlete who mastered the game of basketball. With time, hard work, and commitment he grew into a legend. He is the only player in NBA history to have two jersey numbers (the numbers 8 and 24) retired by the same team (the Lakers). He retired in 2016 and has gone on to support initiatives that help to move the basketball forward.
Fresh Perspective
It’s funny how death can hit you with a wind of sobriety. It challenged me to put everything into perspective and really examine WHY I do everything I do. After hearing about his death I took a moment to re-evaluate my priorities and really make sure that everything I have planned for this year aligns with my purpose.
Here’s the truth
We all know that when we die we don’t take anything with us and yet we spend most of our life accumulating STUFF! Some people waste their whole life pursuing status, positions, and so on only to die and realize they lived their whole life in vain! I don’t want this to happen to you so I have to ask, what is all of your hustle and bustle for? Why do you have the goals that you have this year? How will your achievements make a difference in your life and/or the world? Are your goals aligned with your PURPOSE?! I’ll tell you right now if it’s not aligned with our purpose you’re wasting your time!
Be Great At Whatever You Do
People who have achieved extraordinary levels of success always say “success leaves clues”. Kobe Bryant was an extraordinary leader, thinker, and trailblazer. Hit play to hear about the clues we can uncover from taking a look at the life and legacy of Kobe Bryant! Until next time, xo!
