I am speechless! For those of you who may not be following me on social media, more specifically Instagram, you may not know this, but I’ve been busy cleaning, preparing, and anxiously waiting for baby number 3 to arrive! The estimated due date was June 6th, but as you can tell by the title of this blog he arrived early! And yes, I said HE! Lol, we welcomed our baby boy into our family of four and the girls (Layah and Maya) are super excited to have a little brother!
My labor lasted for 25 hours! Now if you don’t have any kids you’re probably thinking “what in the world!” but let me help you to get a better picture of what this means, you ready? Imagine getting sharp cramp like pains that shoot up through your lower abdomen and back and last between 40-60 seconds coming and going every 5-8 minutes? Do you get the picture? Doesn’t sound like fun, does it? Trust me, it’s intense!
So, the contractions started (contractions are simply your body sending out signals that it is preparing to release the baby) around 9:30 pm and of course, this meant that I would get NO SLEEP. By this time, everyone was in bed (including my husband) and I was listening to an audiobook by David Schwartz called The Magic of Thinking Big
I didn’t want to be the girl who cried wolf so I waited 2 hours before I woke my husband up and let him know I was in labor. Now, listen. We have 2 girls. For both pregnancies when I was laboring through the night he slept like a baby! No matter what I tried he would not wake up so imagine my surprise when he jumped out of bed and whipped into action right away. I was impressed!
Fast forward a few hours, hubby and I jumped into the car. He drove like a mad man and we got to the hospital in 5 minutes! The hospital is actually 10 minutes away so it might’ve been longer but at this point, my eyes were closed and I was trying not to have the baby in the car, okay! Lol
The contractions were growing stronger, I was getting tired of the pain. All I wanted was to have this baby out of my womb and in my arms. Upon arriving at the hospital my midwife confirmed that I was +2 and fully dilated which means, this baby was just about ready to slip out onto the floor! Lol, crazy right?!
We made it to the delivery room, the baby comes and my midwife asks ” do you know what gender the baby is?”. I said “no” and she smiled at me and said, “it’s a girl!”. I was excited! I wanted to see her, hold her, and give her a name! She placed the baby down in front of me and I quickly made eye contact with him! “It’s a boy!” I said with a huge smile.
My husband was standing beside me doing his best to support me through the process. When he heard me say “it’s a boy” he looked over at the baby with admiration and I knew at that moment that he felt proud. He finally had his baby boy!
Now it’s only been 4 days, but I have to say that life with 3 under 3 has been peaceful. I know, that’s not what you thought I was going to say, right? Well, it’s true.
When I imagined what my life would look like after having this third baby I thought my house would be a hot mess, I would want a break from the kids, and maybe if I didn’t plan right, my business would suffer. But none of this has happened. In fact, we’ve had so much help, love, and support that my biggest challenge has been trying to delegate tasks for our friends and family to help us with.
Does the house get messy? Of course, I have 3 kids under 3 years old, it comes with the territory! Are there clothes piled up in my room that need to get organized? Lol, you know it! And I will get to them once I am healed and fully recovered…unless I delegate it to one of my friends haha. Is there anything I would change about having 3 kids under 3 years old? Not one thing. I’m looking forward to all of the play dates, birthday parties, and daily adventures at the park.
My kids make my life way more exciting, purposeful, and dynamic. I wouldn’t be the same Tee without these 3 (do you see what I did there? Haha!) and life would be straight up boring. 3 under 3 is the place to be, 3 under 3 is the life for me! Until next time, thank you for all of your love, prayers, and support. Your girl,
