Let’s End The Year With A Bang
Integrity Over Emotion
Here’s the dictionary definition of integrity: The state of being whole and undivided. This means that the words that leave my mouth are aligned with my thoughts, feelings, and actions. I am whole and complete. I am one with myself. So if this is true, if I am a person of integrity, then when I set out to achieve a goal (no matter how big or small it seems), I get it done.
Integrity is not about trying to impress others with eloquent words or convincing anyone that I am capable of achieving anything. It really boils down to being my word, holding myself accountable, and finishing the things I start.
It’s easy to make New Year resolutions and never do anything about them. It’s easy to talk to friends and tell them about all the great things I hope to one day achieve. But being a person of my word. Embodying the change that I talk about. Being someone who you can trust when I say I’m going to do x,y,z you know it’s already done. This is what it means to be integral and that is what is going to get you to the next level when it comes to achieving your goals.
Question: On a scale of 1-5, how many times do you keep your word? How trustworthy are you? How often do you actually follow through on the things you say you’re going to do?
commitment over self-sabotage
I could give you 1,001 reasons why I am not qualified to do some of the big crazy things that I envision myself doing, but here’s the question I always fall back on. Is it possible? If it’s been done before, I know I can do it. If it hasn’t been done before, I know I can be the first person to blaze the trail and show others how to do it. There is really no excuse for not living out the vision God put on your heart.
Commitment is one of those things that a lot of people think they have until they take a clear, objective look at what commitment really is.
Commitment is taking 100% responsibility. Owning your life or business completely which includes all of the results (the ones you like and are proud of and the ones you try to avoid or ignore).
Commitment is often seen as a burden because it requires action. It requires change, growth, maturity, character development, and so much more and most people who struggle to attain their goals aren’t willing to give up these things even though they know it’s hurting them.
Question: On a scale of 1-5, how committed were you to your goals this year?
Focus Over Distractions
Recently every weekend I’ve been turning my phone off and unplugging from all of the constant alerts, messages, and routines that keep me busy, but unproductive and only takes up mental space. The goal is to recenter and refocus. Realign my heart with the vision of my life and keep the first things first, like my family.
I’m constantly on the go from coaching calls with clients to being a virtual classroom with my 5-year-old to catching up with friends in bible study and my mind has learned how to run with me (sometimes even faster). So taking time to quiet all the busyness and be still is helping me focus, get more done, and live stress-free and with less anxiety.
The Key TakeAway
In order to end this year strong you have to work on yourself. Cultivate your inner giant and allow it to come to life. Give yourself permission to shine through even in the mess, choas, and unpredictability of life.
I hope this helped. If you got anything from this episode let me know. Hit me up on the gram and until next time I love you and I mean it! Xo.
