We’re either developing positive thoughts that will be conducive to where we’re going and helpful to everyone we connect with OR we’re developing negative, unhealthy thoughts that stunt our growth and keep us insecure.
1. Be Selective About What You Believe
Every day subconsciously we’re deciding between what’s real and what’s not. what’s good and what’s bad. what’s true and what’s a lie. But what is our standard based on? How do you decide what is fact? Does it have to be scientifically proven? Does it have to align with your political or religious views? For me I filter everything through what God says in the bible AND science because contrary to popular belief, they work hand-in-hand, together (we can talk about this in another post if you want *wink*). Determine your standard, then be selective about what you allow to influence you, aka be careful how you build on this foundation. Does your entertainment cultivate who you’re becoming, or does it just make you feel good after a long day of work? Be selective about the thoughts you entertain. Do you intentionally place yourself with others that challenge and inspire you or are you surrounded by people that behave and think just like you? Remember, being around people that challenge you could mean reading books by an author you admire. Be selective about the thoughts you entertain.
2. Pay Attention To You Inner Voice
2. Pay Attention To You Inner Voice
Doubting yourself and comparing your life to others will not, I repeat WILL NOT get you closer to where you’re going. Whenever you feel negative thoughts trying to distract you, remind yourself that you’re in your own lane. Your journey and progress is different from everyone around you. There is no one to be compared to because we’re all focused on different goals.
For example: Your goal might be to get 5k followers on Instagram and you know someone that already has this, so you compare yourself to them thinking their life is awesome, but in reality, having 5k followers on Instagram was never their goal. Their goal has always been acquiring more sales in their business. Does this make sense to you?
Pay attention to your inner voice (thoughts) and silence negative thought patterns with the truth. So in this example the truth would be your goal is attainable and the person you know with 5k followers is an example of a method you could use to attain the same results. They then become a source of inspiration not comparison.
Your life will only be as good as you make it, so let’s create something great!
Until next time, Guard your thoughts

This is so amazing and such a great read. I think we should always think about what our inner voice is saying
I agree. It helps us develop self-awareness!
It definitely takes commitment to follow through on our ideas. God gives us an amazing example as the creator, and gives us each unique talents to create as well.
You're 100% right. He's the ultimate example and has given us the ability to follow in His footsteps!
"We can be as great as God" => There is also a book on Buddhism -> "We are all Buddha". It also has the similar teaching, it also teach us to listen to our inner voice. I like how you use the IG follower as goal!
Oh awesome! Thanks for sharing this with me.
I'm not really religious but I believe strongly in good morals, always practising kindness and supporting others. I found your points really interesting and insightful.
Thanks love! 🙂
Oh yes one has to be very selective about what people take in especially in this social media world. Great post!
Right! Thanks sweets!
Having 5k followers on Instagram or having more sales on your business, both are equally quite superfluous goals for me, if we wanted to be great as God, that is.
Lol, very true. If you wanted to be God those things would probably be meaningless to you. But if you wanted an influential business you would need both 😉
From little my dad taught me that the mind is one of the most powerful parts of the body. And to this day I remember this and try to keep it present.

Kudos to him! Sounds like he did a great job with you.
You don't even know JUST how much I needed to read this post today. Thank you. I was especially moved by "pay attention to your inner voice (thoughts) and silence negative thought patterns with the truth". My inner voice is easily distracted and stifled by thoughts of others that are negative. Even if the masses give positivity, it only takes one person for me to be influenced as far as my inner voice goes. Thanks for the reminder to silence the negativity. Beautiful post.
I know. It's easy to subconsciously focus on negative feedback or words we hear, but ultimately we control our minds so we have to stand on guard ;)!
Thanks Deb B!
Your points are so interesting and thoughtful. Listening to the inner voice is a great thing to practice, and with experience and knowledge, it gets more refined.
You got it!
Although I sometimes have the tendency to self-pity and brood over negative things in my life, I do belive in the power of thought. Whatever you think of, gets energy and will multiply. So, even when I don't feel like it, I try to be positive. It works!
Right! I know it does *high five*
I believe in the power of thinking. What you do and surround yourself affects your way of thinking. Staying positive is work, like everything else but with practice it becomes second nature.

Exactly. We exert a lot of energy to develop beneficial habits and once we establish them they become second nature.
Those are important things to consider, it's better to think positive and see the good in things than to focus on the bad. Entertaining negative thoughts is toxic and will get you nowhere.
Right on!
You made some really interesting points here. Positive thinking has a real effect on us I think. When you think positive then you are bound to achieve great things!
Always! Thanks Elizabeth!
