“Integrity
is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.”

Welcome back!
Y’all ain’t ready for this! Today, we’re talking about something that is
so dear to my heart. It’s impossible to have lasting success without this foundation, and it’ll keep you out of trouble. You already know, I’m talking about integrity! Let’s look at the definition to ensure we’re all on the same page.
so dear to my heart. It’s impossible to have lasting success without this foundation, and it’ll keep you out of trouble. You already know, I’m talking about integrity! Let’s look at the definition to ensure we’re all on the same page.
“the quality of being honest and having strong moral
principles; moral uprightness…the state of being whole and undivided.” (www.dictionary.com).
principles; moral uprightness…the state of being whole and undivided.” (www.dictionary.com).
Based on this definition we see that integrity
is maintaining your moral values. This is especially important when you’re under pressure, stressed, challenged, or experiencing change. No matter how much temptation you face, a person with integrity is undivided. They’ve predetermined to build their life on their
convictions (which doesn’t change frequently) and they’re committed to following through on that
decision.

“A single lie destroys a whole reputation of integrity “
– Baltasar Gracian
Alright now
here’s where it gets real! I’ll be honest, sometimes I feel like a
hypocrite. Why? Because I don’t always follow through on my convictions. I have rare moments when I choose to ignore the feeling of right or wrong and I do what I want to do, simply
because that’s what I want to do. Is this a good thing to apply? Of course not! Through routine practice of this, I could eventually dull my conscious and lose my compass of right and wrong. Do I strive to adhere to my convictions as much as possible? Yes! Because I know making the right choices and doing the right thing(s) gets me promotion the right way and places me on a solid foundation to build the life that I want. So, I get it! People with integrity make mistakes, but we learn from them and keep it moving! We don’t build our life or reputation on a lie.

Consider this, a life of lies and hypocrisy is the fastest way to destroy
your credibility. This not only effects your present relationships and
influence, but it can damage your future. Sadly, we’re all familiar with at
least one story of someone who presented themselves to be someone they couldn’t maintain behind closed doors. Eventually, the truth caught up with them. I personally believe that no matter how long it takes, the truth always comes out in the end.

Moving forward, I challenge you to live what you teach and practice what you
preach. If you claim to be living a certain lifestyle, or that you have
hard core convictions about something, simply follow through on it in your
daily choices. Don’t allow life challenges or pressure test to throw you off your game. You got this! Right and wrong is ingrained in you. Understand your values and allow them to guide you!

– Malcolm X
I know sometimes it’s easier to go with the flow, but trust me, it’s always better to follow a moral compass. These values are usually more logical than we are in the moment, they are proven age-old principles, and they’ve brought success to people world-wide who lived before us and will continue for people who live after us. Value’s are a solid foundation to build on. I personally always look to God and the bible for principles and guidance, especially when I feel indecisive. I know 100% that I can always find a solid answer in the bible!
“A good name is to be chosen rather than great
riches…”
riches…”
– Proverbs 22:1
Your reputation exceeds you. Be integral and don’t lose sight of your values.
Until next time,
