HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Okay! Allow me to kick this off right, you ready!? You can now look forward to new posts every Monday at 11am & every Saturday at 9am (Eastern Standard Time) effective IMMEDIATELY! Woouu hoouu! Alright, let’s do this!
So, it’s officially 2018! Yessss! We made it! Everyone is excited right? We’re promising ourselves that this year will be bigger, better, and more productive than 2017. Many people are starting fresh by changing their diet, committing to personal development, and cutting ties from negative relationships. I’m happy for you, I really am, but check this out…
What does this mean for 2018? You can predict your success based on your current habits. Now, God Himself, the person I believe to be the creator of everything has already planned and prepared for us all to be successful, what ever that means to you. The only thing in your way is you. Some of you might disagree and come up with a thousand obstacles you’ve encountered, and I’m not discrediting any of them. The struggle is real and we all encounter them. All I’m saying is when you boil it down, your life is and will continue to be what it is because you are who you chose to be (good and bad). I admit, this is a hard pill to swallow. You’ll need a smooth milk shake to help get this down. Add a little humility and you’ll be alright! There are no shortcuts. If you want to see change/growth in your life this year you will have to change/grow. Here are a few things I do to get out of my own way.
1. Discover Useful Resources
Now, this is what I like to call necessary mindset preparation. I want to build and run multiple successful businesses. So where do I start? By surrounding myself with information and knowledge that will help me create the life I want. I continually extract information from growing and established people who resemble who I want to become (humble, disciplined, focused, etc) and what I’m working towards (entrepreneurship, being healthy, etc). If you want this year to be better than ever, you have to change how you think by gathering new information.
2. Implementation
Everybody say this with me “once you know better, do better!” We all know this saying, but do we practice it? You can answer this for yourself. Every time you learn a better way to do something and you chose to remain, let’s call it what it is, in your comfort zone, you’re only limiting yourself! Resist default mode, turn off auto-pilot and consciously replace the old with the new.
3. Focus
Ever heard someone say “you can have it all, just not at the same time.”? I know, I know! It’s hard! You’re excited and ready to implement everything you’ve just learned. Haha, I’m the same way! The eagerness is good, hold onto that, but the plan needs work. We have to be decisive and start with one goal, one project, and/or one character trait at a time. There’s no rush. Progress comes in baby steps so kill each bird one stone at at time.
Let’s plan to make this year our best, while at the same time, becoming fearless and not only preparing to walk on water, but also stepping out of the boat and actually doing it!
Until next time, Xoxo!
